The Problem

You’ve Been Lied To
About Football Training.

Your coaches told you to “just get stronger.” So you did. You squatted heavy. Benched heavy. Hit PRs every month.

But your forty time? Exactly the same.
Your film? Identical to last season.

You’re grinding in the weight room all week, outworking everyone on your team. And you’re still slow. Still stiff. Still getting passed over for guys who don’t work half as hard as you.

Max strength and explosive speed are not the same thing. When you grind slow reps under max load, you’re teaching your nervous system to move slowly.
EVT med ball explosive training

Football happens in 0.2 seconds. That’s how long you’re on the ground when you explode off the line. And you’ve never trained your body to produce force that fast.

Your coaches aren’t lying to you on purpose. They’re just teaching you to train like it’s still 1975. And that’s exactly why you’re not building explosive velocity.

My Story

I Know How You Feel.
Because I Was You.

After the game - I was you

My name is Joseph Cortez. Sophomore year, I was the strongest kid on my team. 450-pound squat. 285 bench. In the weight room six days a week.

You know how many touches I got that entire season? Five.

I felt like I was moving through quicksand while everyone else was playing at a different speed. My coach pulled me aside and said, “You’re just a big JV kid. You don’t belong on varsity.”

Until an old Canadian pro pulled me aside and changed everything. He said: “Kid, you’re training like an amateur. If you want to be a football player, stop training like a bodybuilder.”

He gave me a new program and told me to follow it. Here’s what happened:

Same body. Different training. I went from benchwarmer to two-way starter, 12 touchdowns, and coaches couldn’t take me off the field.

After my playing days, I coached at the University of Texas during our Big 12 championship and College Football Playoff runs.

And I saw the exact same training principles being used at the highest level of football.

Coach Cortez on the UT sideline

That’s when I knew: I had to take what I learned at UT, combine it with what I learned from that pro, and build a system any high school athlete could use. That system became EVT. Explosive Velocity Training.

The System

What Is Explosive
Velocity Training?

EVT is a complete year-round training system designed to train your nervous system to produce maximum force in minimum time. Your nervous system adapts to the exact stimulus you give it. Train slow? You move slow. Train fast? You move fast.

Football happens in 0.1 to 0.2 seconds per ground contact. EVT trains your body to produce force in that exact time window. Activating Type IIx fast-twitch muscle fibers and building rate of force development.

Questions

Frequently Asked

What exactly is EVT?
+
EVT is a complete year-round training system designed to train your nervous system to produce maximum force in minimum time. It’s the exact training methodology used by NFL and D1 programs. It’s the opposite of everything your high school strength coach is teaching you. You get every workout, every rep scheme, every rest period, plus a full drill library, testing protocols, and a recruiting accelerator.
I’m already strong. Will this still help me?
+
That’s exactly who this is built for. Coach Cortez squatted 450 lbs in high school and still couldn’t get on the field. Strength without explosiveness is like having a sports car engine with no transmission. EVT bridges that gap. It teaches your nervous system to convert your existing strength into explosive on-field speed and power.
How fast will I see results?
+
Most athletes feel a noticeable difference in the first 7 days. Measurable gains in your 40-yard dash and vertical typically show up within 3-4 weeks. The program includes weekly testing so you can track your progress in real time.
Can I do this during football season?
+
Yes. Module 6 is specifically designed for in-season and multi-sport athletes. The program adapts to your schedule so you can maintain and build explosiveness without burnout or overtraining. Many of our athletes run EVT year-round.
What if it doesn’t work for me?
+
Then you get every penny back. The 30-day guarantee is simple: go through the program, track your results, and if you don’t see visible improvement in your explosiveness and movement quality, just email Coach Cortez for a full refund. No questions, no hassle. You have zero risk.
Do I need a gym or special equipment?
+
Basic access to a weight room and an open field or track is all you need. The program uses standard equipment you’d find in any school gym. Barbells, dumbbells, plyo boxes, and bands. No fancy machines required. EVT is designed to be accessible to any high school athlete.
